Photographing in analog doesn’t reject digital, it improves how you use it. Film trains your eye. It teaches restraint, observation, and trust in your instincts. You learn to read light properly. You learn to anticipate moments rather than react to them.

Having two photobooks out about Everton, in particular Goodison Park, can be confusing. And I often get asked “what’s the difference?” 

Well, if you’ve read my previous blog on my second book, Commence Operation Goodison Farewell, being stocked in Waterstones then you’ll already know that my first book was never intentionally created to go to the public market. 

There’s something deeply special about seeing your work exist beyond a computer screen, especially when that work is photography. In a world that is becoming ever increasingly digital, it can feel rare to see our work in print.
