Smartphones have changed the way we capture our lives. They’re always in our pockets, quick to use, and capable of producing impressive images at the tap of a screen. So it’s completely fair to ask: why invest in professional photography when your phone already takes good photos?

Having two photobooks out about Everton, in particular Goodison Park, can be confusing. And I often get asked “what’s the difference?” 

Well, if you’ve read my previous blog on my second book, Commence Operation Goodison Farewell, being stocked in Waterstones then you’ll already know that my first book was never intentionally created to go to the public market. 

There’s something deeply special about seeing your work exist beyond a computer screen, especially when that work is photography. In a world that is becoming ever increasingly digital, it can feel rare to see our work in print.
